1960's Strat® Pickup

Porter Pickups have earned a stellar reputation for their exceptional sound quality and craftsmanship, making them a top choice for musicians seeking to elevate their tone. When I had the chance to meet them at NAMM a few years back, the energy of the event was overwhelming, but I could still tell that Porter Pickups had something special. The real magic happened when I took my Strat-style electric guitar, loaded with Porter Gatekeeper bridge and their 1960’s Strat pickups in the neck and middle, to the stage. That’s when I truly fell in love with the sound.

The Gatekeeper bridge pickup offers a fantastic balance between clarity and punch, perfect for lead work that cuts through the mix while still retaining warmth. The 1960’s Strat pickups for the neck and middle positions deliver a vintage tone, with a beautiful bell-like chime that harkens back to the golden era of Stratocasters. What stood out most to me was the dynamic range—every nuance in my playing came through clearly, whether I was lightly picking or digging in for more aggressive licks.

When paired with my Fender Vibrolux twin 12-inch speaker amp, the combination was pure magic. The Vibrolux brought out the full potential of the Porter Pickups, offering rich, full-bodied tones with the perfect amount of sparkle. Clean tones shimmer, and when I push the amp into overdrive, the pickups maintain their clarity without becoming muddy, giving me the perfect balance for both rhythm and lead.
